Doc Rock is the host of pirate radio station "Nighthawk". His favorite topic: the Nightslasher - a serial killer that haunts the town.

Doc mocks the police: "How hard can it be to prevent the slasher from slaying his next victim?" A bad idea! Just a moment later there's a phone call in the home studio in the cellar of his house… It's the Nightslasher and he forces Doc Rock into a deadly game:

If Doc manages to prevent him from killing the victim during the rest of the radio show he will let her go.

The host has to dig up his innermost secrets, because the killer is closer than he ever imagined and there is no chance to escape.

Marco J. Riedl has started his career as an assistant to Michael Ballhaus during the production of "Gangs of New York".

He teamed up with co-director Carsten Vauth for a short film version of "ON AIR" in 2010. The short won more than 15 international awards among them NBC Universal's Shocking Shorts Award. They are Alumnis of Universal Studios' Filmmasters Program.

After the success of their short they adapted their the subject for the big screen.

"ON AIR" is their debut as feature film directors.

Stefan Gieren is an Academy Award Nominee, his films have received more than 50 international awards among them a Student Academy Award (2011), an Angelus Award and Best Foreign Film at the L.A. Shorts Festival.

"ON AIR" is his third feature length film. He co-founded two educational TV stations in Afghanistan.
